Sustainable holidays
More sustainable holidays
Looking for a sustainable holiday experience? The staff at TopParken make increasingly sustainable choices every day, looking at how to limit the impact on the environment and people. This way, you can enjoy a pleasant and green stay, without compromising on the quality and service you are used to from us. The commitment has been recognised at the majority of our holiday parks by the Green Key quality mark, and we are proud of that.

What TopParken does for people, the environment and nature
Enjoy your well-earned, sustainable holiday in a wooded area, by the water or in the hilly landscape of South Limburg. The areas differ from each other, but there is one concept that links the regions: nature. We have to be careful with that.
For this reason, TopParken is committed to people, nature and the environment through the following initiatives:
✓ Donate deposit money to charity
Sustainable bed linen from Blycolin
Digitalised accommodation information
✓ Planting of native flower and plant species
Sustainable cleaning products
Partner of various charities
Involved in local society through sponsorships ✓
Use of natural materials
✓ Coffee machines from Douwe Egberts
✓ Local products in catering outlets
Sustainable holiday park: Résidence Lage Vuursche
Résidence Lage Vuursche, TopParken's newest holiday park, offers completely sustainable holidays. The park has implemented a well thought-out fauna plan to enhance biodiversity in and around the park, allowing guests to enjoy a rich natural environment. Moreover, the homes at the park are completely gas-free, minimising the ecological footprint. Some of these eco-friendly homes are equipped with advanced "batteries" powered by solar energy, making them self-sufficient, thus taking a step forward towards sustainability. Inside the homes, innovative heat panels provide efficient and targeted heating by heating surfaces rather than entire rooms. In addition, the park uses natural materials, heat-resistant windows and sustainable linen, making every holiday here not only relaxing, but also in harmony with nature.

How does the Green Key inspection work?
When positive, sustainable changes have taken place during the development of a holiday park, an inspection is requested from Green Key. At an agreed time, they will send an independent inspector to assess all measures from the preparatory inspection. The inspection will show whether any remedial actions remain open or whether a certificate will be awarded to the holiday park. A bronze, silver or gold certificate will then be awarded to the park. This depends on the total number of points achieved, based on the 12 'sustainable enterprise' themes of Green Key:
- Management
- Communication
- Social involvement
- Water
- Cleaning
- Waste
- Energy
- Construction and green spaces
- Mobility
- Food and drink
- Procurement
- Textiles
When the holiday park has completed the inspection positively, it continues working with the action list created during the preparation for the following years. In this way, sustainability remains a continuous process and the next inspection, which follows the year after, does not require much preparation.
