Holiday story of de Haas family: ''What a place!'' (with photos)

Mr and Mrs de Haas stayed at Landgoed de Scheleberg with their little daughter Roos. They exchanged the busy Randstad for the beautiful Veluwe. On their last day of holiday, they wrote the following blog from their luxury holiday home at the edge of the woods of the holiday park. Holiday reminder from family de Haas: ''All expectations exceeded.''

Last week we booked a Deluxe 4-person wellness, also called Boslodge, at Landgoed de Scheleberg. This weekend is finally here and we are looking forward to it. It will be the first holiday with our daughter Roos, who can now walk quite well. We are really going to have a relaxing weekend, because our cottage also includes a real wellness area, with a spa, a sauna and an outdoor shower.

What a place!

Besides, our holiday home is in the middle of the forest, so we are going to enjoy the wonderful peace and quiet of nature. Moreover, the Veluwe is familiar territory for us, as we visited the area a few years ago. However, it will be the first time at TopParken Landgoed de Scheleberg, so we are very curious.

On arrival, it immediately becomes clear that the park really is 'in the middle of the forest'. From reception, we drive around the edge of the park to our holiday home, where we can also park the car.

Once we arrive at our forest lodge (Deluxe 4-person wellness), this exceeds all our expectations. From inside and from the terrace you have a wonderful view of the forest. It is wonderfully quiet and you can really only hear the cheerful twittering of the birds. On the second day, we even saw a deer, which unfortunately left before I had grabbed my phone to take a picture. In addition, the wellness is well sheltered, allowing you to enjoy the spa, sauna and outdoor shower in privacy. We ourselves live in the city, where the back neighbours can see right in. So so much peace and privacy is really enjoyable for us.

Playing and swimming

Apart from the forest lodge, our daughter (and us) also enjoyed the facilities on the park. A big hit was the brand new playground, as our daughter can't get enough of slides. Needless to say, we went here every day. Incidentally, we can also come back here later, as the playground has plenty to do for older children. There is a cable car and a football cage, so everyone is catered for. The swimming pool also has a slide in the paddling pool, so there is no shortage of slides. As parents, we also got our money's worth at the pool. There were lovely sunbeds and we could get drinks from the poolside bar in between.

Restaurant

Besides all the facilities above, the park also has an excellent restaurant that would not be out of place in our town. The menu has something for everyone, and we went for the chef's delicious sushi special. We then also enjoyed several times sitting on the terrace where you have a lovely view of the park entrance.

Conclusion: ''What a Top Park!''

Our conclusion about Landgoed de Scheleberg is clear: what a Toppark! The Deluxe 4 persons wellness exceeded all expectations, our daughter enjoyed everything the park has to offer and on the last day we explored the beautiful Veluwe by bike.
