RTL News: "New Year's Eve without banging: fireworks-free bungalow parks on the rise"

By RTL News: Tonight the Netherlands goes wild with fireworks again, but not everyone is a fan of them. A growing number of people are trying to avoid the annual banging by celebrating New Year's Eve in a fireworks-free park or fireworks-free hotel. "We could sell out many more rooms if we had them," he says.

Not only fireworks-free hotels are popular. Dog owners also like to celebrate New Year's Eve at fireworks-free bungalow parks. This is possible, for example, at TopParken. At several holiday parks of this chain, no fireworks are allowed during New Year's Eve, says spokesperson Rene Gorter. "We started this four years ago and it is very popular. People who come at the turn of the year often book immediately afterwards for the following year as well."

In particular, it concerns dog owners. For example, the park De Scheleberg where Gorter is the manager is full of 300 dogs. "We have as many cottages as dogs. We also respond to this, for example, we have a special dog buffet. It's mostly ordinary dogs, but a lot of people with assistance dogs come here too."

At Landgoed de Scheleberg, a special buffet is ready for dogs.
