Sustainable and Socially Responsible Holidays

At TopParken, we are committed every day to finding the perfect balance between people, nature and the environment. Both at our holiday parks and from the head office. For example, our holiday parks aim to cause as little nuisance to nature as possible. In doing so, we continuously work on reducing the environmental burden and increasing the sustainable character of our company. Sustainability is reflected in all our business processes, services and products.
In doing so, we like to make a positive contribution to society. For instance, by cooperating with sheltered workshops and supporting various charities and local (sports) associations.

Sustainability within TopParken

At our holiday parks, sustainability is reflected in the processes, services and products. From sustainable holiday homes completely off the gas, to smaller adjustments such as the ability to separate waste, the use of electric golf carts and our FairTrade bedding. Our commitment and the level of sustainability in our work processes, services and products has been recognised by the Green Key seal of approval at a number of our holiday parks, and we are proud of that.

Green Key

Green Key is the largest sustainability hallmark for the tourism and leisure industry in the Netherlands. The quality mark is awarded to organisations that consider sustainability important and implement it in all their business processes, without their guests compromising on comfort or quality. This confirms that at our holiday parks listed below, we go a step further than is required within Dutch laws and regulations.

At all our holiday parks, we naturally comply with Dutch laws and regulations on sustainability.

Initiative highlighted: PET and CANMan at TopParken ⤵️

At all our holiday parks, holiday guests can hand in their plastic bottles and cans. In this way, they help to recycle the material and donate the deposit to a good cause, namely the Plastic Soup Foundation. Handing in the bottles and cans is very simple, as they can be thrown in special bins, the so-called PET and CANMan. Then, in cooperation with Deposit Money Netherlands, it is ensured that the cans and bottles are returned and the deposit is donated to the Plastic Soup Foundation.

Sustainable products

A few years ago, we started building sustainable holiday homes. These holiday homes are built without natural gas to reduce CO2 emissions and are heated electrically, also known as 'electric homes'.

Sustainable processes, services and products

Within our organisation, we continuously work on making our processes, services and products more sustainable. A selection of what else we are doing to work step by step towards a sustainable future:

• Digitalisation of communications, such as accommodation information and brochures.
• ATMs without coupons.
• Use of natural materials for signage and play areas.
• Welcome packs are printed on sustainable paper.
• Reuse/recycle company clothing.
• Preserving the natural environment is an important part of the development and maintenance of our holiday parks. This is done in consultation with municipalities and other stakeholders.
• Our cleaning teams are committed to sustainability by, among other things, turning the heating and cooling down or down, switching off lights and television at all times, separating waste and collecting toilet rolls that are not fully used, half-full shampoo and soap bottles.

Besides being considerate of people, the environment and nature, we like to make a positive contribution to society. That is why TopParken supports various charities and associations and regularly cooperates with social workshops and institutions.
