The founders of TopParken
The TopParken concern as we know it today was founded in 2004 by the Bergervoet family. At the time, the company was founded as a project developer and consisted of various, high-quality holiday parks and accommodations in the Netherlands. Here, chalets were increasingly replaced by fully-fledged holiday homes, equipped with all modern conveniences and comforts. Due to the success of the first parks, they soon expanded further in the Veluwe and to the rest of the country. The parks are all situated at unique locations, surrounded by the beautiful nature and versatile landscape of the Netherlands.
The history of TopParken
In the 1970s, Janus Bergervoet noticed that more and more people were returning to the same holiday address and therefore started selling modern chalets to consumers. With the success of sales, the demand for permanent pitches at beautiful locations with the right facilities and a nice ambiance also grew.
Janus soon operated several holiday parks under the name Continental Recreatie; from buying bare plots at unique locations to offering fully equipped holiday parks, matching the wishes and needs of the market. Creating a fine, special holiday experience was always central in this. In 2004, he founded TopParken.
The proud owners of TopParken
Anno 2024, the Bergervoet family is still the proud owners & directors of TopParken. This makes TopParken one of the few holiday park operators in the leisure industry which is still a real family business. Together with an ever-growing team of professionals, the organisation grows continuously and TopParken has become a leading player in the leisure industry.
Who is Janus Bergervoet?
Janus Bergervoet is the founder and owner of TopParken. He was born on 30 March 1951 in Groningen. In the 1970s, he started a company focused on the sale of chalets. In 2004, Janus founded TopParken. His eye for opportunities, decades of experience and an ever-growing team of professionals have made TopParken into a leading player.
Who is Riekie Bergervoet?
Riekie Bergervoet is the daughter of Janus Bergervoet, the founder of TopParken, and co-owner of TopParken. She was born on 5 October 1972 in Ede (Gelderland). Riekie was involved in setting up the TopParken concern as we know it today in 2004. In close cooperation with a full management team, consisting of various professionals, she manages the organisation.
TopParken as project developer
TopParken has acquired and revitalised many campsites and holiday parks in recent years. The most recent examples are Camping Leuk and Camping de Uiterwaard in Lexmond, now Resort Lexmond, and camping de Hertenwei in Lage Mierde, now Resort de Brabantse Kempen.
Besides acquiring holiday parks and campsites, TopParken also resells holiday parks. For example, TopParken sold three coastal holiday parks, Parc du Soleil, Recreatiepark de Woudhoeve and Recreatiepark Noordwijkse Duinen, in 2021. This gave the organisation more space to further develop existing and new holiday parks.
